>Welcome Burgos, Durham & Düsseldorf!

>Last week CD approved three new contacts and now we are welcoming them in our AEGEE family and hope that they will sign CdA and become AEGEE locals soon – some already in Agora Kyiv! :)

Burgos
Burgos is a small city (170.000 inhabitants) located in the North of the country – between Madrid and the North coast- that belongs to the region called Castilla y Leon.
In Burgos there is one of the four Universities of Castilla y Leon, with around 10.000 students. Although the University of Burgos (UBU) is quite young (founded in 1994), during the last years they have been working hard to develop the International Relations of the University, sending and receiving Erasmus students (around 200 students go out and around 150 come to Burgos every year), and participating in other International programs with Universities in Asia and America.

Durham
Durham is a city in the North East of England, the United Kingdom. It is the county town of the larger ceremonial county, and it has 42,939 inhabitants.
They are being supported by Durham Students’ Union (DSU), which is a part of Durham University. It was one of the first universities to open in England for more than 600 years, and is claimed to be England’s third oldest after Oxford and Cambridge.

Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf is the capital of Germany’s state Northrhine Westfalia, the state in Germany with the most inhabitants. It has about 580.000 inhabitants, is situated in West Germany, quite close to the Netherlands, and has actually the biggest community of Japaneese people outside of Japan. Düsseldorf is famous for it’s beer (“Alt”), it’s old town, the Rhine, and for having the longest bar of the world!
The University of Düsseldorf is still quite young. It developed since 1965, and since 1989 it is called Heinrich Heine Universitaet Düsseldorf. About 16.000 students are studying here.

Thanks to the future AEGEE members and Wikipedia for the information as well as Google for the pictures! :)
