>Web 2.0 – Useful tools

>The Web2.0 is an amazing thing that is surely not limited only to Twitter and Facebook. The biggest difference to the old Web is simply a fact that websites are not static pages with linear content, but can be whole applications that are sometimes that advances that they can replace pretty much of the offline software. Due to the fact that they are working entirely online, they are naturally allowing the user to access them from every computer that is connected to the internet and also offering great possibilities in collaboration and sharing.

Pretty often while browsing the web I am stumbling upon new interesting tools that catch my attention. Some of them I have started using myself, while in other cases I just think “that might be interesting for some other person or a team working online”. Especially in AEGEE we are working constantly online and the internet is the main thing is making our work possible. But why to stick only to the good old tools like email and Skype? I’d like to use this space to present you every now and then a small collection of tools that might make our work more efficient and smooth. This is the first collection!
If you have any suggestion about any other tool that should be presented here, just write me at michael.makowiecki@aegee.org!

Nirvana HQ – an online to-do list

Nirvana offers a simple, yet very powerful online to-do list. In contrary to other similar offers, the interface is very simple and clear, but still does offer many useful functions like marking items directly as to do “today” or just “someday”, adding scheduled times and due dates. The possibility to tag tasks and add them to projects is also not missing. But what is the most important thing about a to-do list? It should always provide you with a good overview. This is definitely a big advantage of Nirvana HQ.

Vyew – collaboratibe workspace

AEGEE members are often working in international teams without having the possibility to meet each other frequently. Collaborative working on documents and sharing them constantly is one of the basic tasks. Usually these documents are being shared via email or similar ways, which is quite often not efficient. Documents are being lost in the big amount of emails and people start confusing versions. Wouldn’t it be perfect to have a real office where everyone could access the same document and share comments and other materials? Google Docs is enabling you to collaboratively edit documents, Yvew is giving you a whole workspace that you can define together with your team as you imagine it. Share not only documents, but all possible materials, use it as a notepad and conference room in which the all notes and outcomes are automatically stored in the virtual space.
