Time to say Goodbye!

As editor-in-chief I hoped this day would never come and I am so sorry to tell you this:

The AEGEEan magazine will stop existing. This is the last article which will appear in the magazine.

Recently there were many articles published and maybe you ask yourself why we end now. For you it might come out of nowhere, but the truth is, the magazine team had some internal problems and we were not able to solve them. We do not see how we can be competitive to such well-established magazines as the Golden Oldie and Gunnar’s Golden Times. Therefore we decided it is better to come to an end and concentrate more on other projects in our beloved organisation.

Jüri Kirpu, Internal Relations Director of AEGEE-Europe, tried to convince us to go on with the magazine. He tried everything he could, but the decision was made.  I enjoyed the time very much working in this team and appreachated the possability to inform you about what is going on in our Network. I will never forget this experience, because it was truly amazing.

Also, some of our team members would like to say goodbye to you:

Anita Kalmane: „It is hard to think that I will not be able to report about the recent happenings in AEGEE, but after a lot of discussions and thinking I agree that we’ll never be able to compete with Golden Times. Let the older generation keep their power!”

Kata Szabó: „Dear readers! So the bitter end has come… For this reason I would like to express my gratitude to all our devoted readers as editor of Beyond AEGEE. Thank you for your support, your enthusiasm and interest! This is a very difficult time for us… The only thing we can hope that your love will help us survive.“

Olga Iatsyna: „Dear all, The AEGEEan was like a bright sun shining in the kingdom of AEGEE gossips and talks. We all will miss its always true articles and creative ideas.“

Michael Makowiecki: “Dear readers, everything good will come to an end and sometimes it is better to leave the stage at the best moment rather than slowly die. I hope that you all had a good time with us.”

Patricia Anthony: „Wow, never have I ever seen this coming but the day has come where we unfortunately are saying goodbye to The AEGEEan. I hope that you have enjoyed following the magazine as much as I have enjoyed writing articles for you. “Why do all good things come to an end?” they say but I don’t actually know what the answer is to that…“

Olga Volovik: „Here’s one last hello. Thank you dear readers for all your support. We hope you enjoyed our work, however short in time it may have been. It was good while it lasted.”

Liliya Buyukliyska: „I was proud to be one of the founders and very sadly has to say also “Goodbye”. It was an honour to be a writer, it was really interesting to be an editor and challenging to meet such a great team. Goodbye to the most sexiest team in the network.“ :)

Deniz Özhan: „Dear readers, we could have a lot more, but unfortunately we are skipping that. Thank you all so much for following us so far it was an amazing experience.“

April fool! Today is April 1st 2012.

You were tricked! :)

Hope you honestly did not believe what you just read. I can promise al least until next year this day The AEGEEan will not split up, but rather provide you with more interesting news from our Network and go on competing with Golden Times.

Stick around!
