Despite the presence of the Covid-19 pandemic, for the very first time in its history, AEGEE will be organising an Online Agora. Like every year, different members have applied to different positions. In this series, we interviewed the candidates of the new Network Commission that will work in each part of Europe. One of these candidates is Milica Sinanovic from AEGEE-Nis.
Good morning, Milica, and thank you so much for accepting our invitation. Firstly, readers would like to know a bit more about you. Could you please introduce yourself?
Good morning and thank you for inviting me. First and foremost, I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well. My name is Milica Sinanović, I am 21 years old and I am from Niš, Serbia. Currently, I am studying Business Management at the Faculty of Economics Niš and I have been a member of AEGEE-Niš for two and a half years.
There is no doubt when reading your motivation letter that you are a constant learner in each situation you have to manage. From your point of view, and for other AEGEE members that are planning to be Network Commission members, this kind of attitude is essential to be in this position?
Yes, I believe that it is quite important to keep improving yourself every day. While we learn about new things, we grow as individuals, but also help others grow too. By sharing our experience, skills and knowledge, we are creating a better community for AEGEEans.
Going to your programme, what are the main objectives you want to achieve during your period as a Network Commission member?
Initially, I would address and solve the issues that occurred during the pandemic, such as lack of motivation which also resulted in losing members and other problems that they are facing. Therefore my focus will be on encouraging locals to engage on a European level, by networking with other locals from area, planning or participating in European events and so on.
Is there any field, in particular, you want to focus during your period as NetCommie?
AEGEE has a lot to offer and not every member is fully aware of the many opportunities. I believe that it is essential to work on this matter and inform members about these. By doing so, the interest of members to participate in European activities will raise.
Finally, in case you are not elected, what will you do in AEGEE during the next academic year?
Until October I will remain a board member and Fundraising Responsible. Later on, I would like to continue being a member of A-Niš as an adviser. I wish to work on increasing my European level experience by participating in various events and possibly engaging in activities of Working Groups.
