The Chair Team has recently issued an Open Call for workshops to take place during Spring Agora Rhein-Neckar and there are many reasons to apply for hosting a workshop at a statutory event. Giovanni Circella shares his experience from his workshop in Agora Budapest last year.
“Change-Maker Lab!” was a cool note in Agora-Budapest that gathered 25 interested participants in order to discuss how to feel the inspiration, and change the world. The workshop started with an energiser that created the right atmosphere to initiate a meeting: if you cannot dare to do something foolish, then you cannot change the world! It then led participants through an analysis of themselves, to find the way each one of us can feel the inspiration and make a positive change.
The workshop brought together young passionate AEGEEans who want to have an impact on society. They discovered the inspiring stories of other young change-makers around the world who are already making an impact on other people’s lives, the environment and society. They discussed about what inspired these leaders, and how each young dreamer in the room could be the next one to follow this path.
The workshop showed how everyone is just so close to becoming the protagonist of the next inspiring story of change-making, but sometimes he/she does not know it yet. We continued the discussion with a SWOT analysis of our passions and of some dreams (or issues) that we had as kids. This was the starting point for brainstorming about new projects. Each one of us has a basket of forgotten ideas that could make an impact on the world. So, what are you waiting for? Start searching through it! Change-making can only happen if you get in touch with your past experiences and true passions. A couple of nice ideas started emerging during the workshop, which created a small community of change-makers. Stay tuned, the workshop in Budapest was only the first step to making changes!
