Important news for the entire AEGEE network!
Since the end of October a group of AEGEE members from different antennas created a new Committee, the Human Resource Committee! The new born Committee has been ratified at the autumn AGORA in Skopje, and since that moment it has begun to take its first steps.
The new committee is presented to the network as an active and dynamic group, born from the idea to discuss and work together on issues related to Human Resources, with the declared intention to analyse and outline the priorities and needs of our members; to understand the difficulties of every single antenna in trying to ensure a generational change, and in general to find appropriate tools to encourage more people in joining our network and assuming positions at the European level.
Today, the Committee consists of 21 members divided into 4 subgroups:
Bringing European level closer
The main purpose of this subgroup is to encourage more members to assume assignments on the European level of AEGEE within Working groups, Projects Team and in the Board of AEGEE Europe. A position inside the aforementioned groups represents a way to get more involved, an opportunity to give contribution to the definition of the activities that the association should take in its international level. In order to expand this purpose, the activities that this SC is going to implement are: create a framework for all European level bodies and create information packages containing the details for recruiting more members for the European level.
Analysing the needs of the network
This subgroup analyses what is the status/life of our network today, what people look for and want to do when they get inside an AEGEE Antenna. The next steps are to create a profile of AEGEE members, create an HR database and work in connection with AEGEE Academy in order to have an adequate training system.
Creating Materials
The aim of this subgroup is to collect information and documents from all Antennas in order to create manuals for Local Training Course. Next activity will be to establish a good connection with the IT Committee in order to create a database of team-building activities and workshops examples.
Ensuring the HR cycle
The mission is to support AEGEE locals in managing their human resources effectively by helping them develop HR strategies, as well as assisting them in implementation. Next steps of their mission will be to establish a connection with local HR responsible and conduct research in order to be aware of the exact problems of locals.
Considerably supported by the Human Resources Director of AEGEE Europe, Guillermo Garcia Tabares, the whole Committee has been created and has already done much.
The preliminary phase taking place at the moment is to gather appropriate information and support activities to be implemented during this year, such as surveys and the creation of non-formal activities, according to the AEGEE educational methods. Soon we will discover all the members and we will find out what they are designing for their networks.
We encourage you to answer the upcoming surveys from HRC in order to know better the needs of our network!
A big hug to all from the Board of HRC (Beata, Guillermo and Roberto).
