Indeed, as Agnes was already mentioning in the previous blog post, last weekend I was in Lund, south of Sweden, where for two days me and Tomek from AEGEE-Academy were giving local training course to new members of AEGEE-Lund, Linköping and Düsseldorf.
Although there were not many of them, those, who came, were very motivated, interested in AEGEE and eager to participate already in the next AEGEE events :) We are going to see AEGEE-Lund representatives both in Network Meetings Hamburg and Katowice, and other people were already discussing their participation in other events as well.
Two days of workshops about AEGEE, motivation, leadership, PR and project management went really fast as during the day we were sharing the information and experiences, but in the evening – partying with international students as Lund is a real students city (almost half of the inhabitants are students), and international students are quite a high percentage there as well.
The result? Educated AEGEE members, who know have more ideas what to do in their locals and how to work there :) Also I can’t finish this post without mentioning some other conclusions of the LTC:
- Even the rain can’t scare people away from AEGEE ;)
- Design of a new flyer was made
- Possible cooperation and/or twin antennae were discussed
- Some people out there don’t want to join AEGEE because we are spending tax payers money
- The university and it’s facilities are simply great and beautiful
- Don’t organise events about mafia in Sweden, better do them about environment
- And we learnt that one third of Swedish youth have different routs of origin – they were born in Sweden, but their parents might be from other countries. That explains why in AEGEE-Lund and Linköping we shall see more members who don’t look typical Swedish :)
