In spring, ten\u00a0Network Meetings (NWMs) will be hosted in ten cities scattered all around Europe. The local who will kick off this cycle is\u00a0AEGEE-Ni\u0161 that is expecting 20 AEGEEans from the 17th until the 20th of March. We spoke with their president\u00a0Bratislav Boji\u0107 to get to know more about this event and the future plans of the local.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\"DSC_0104\"<\/a>The AEGEEan: Can you tell us more about your local?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bratislav:<\/strong> Well, the most important thing to say about AEGEE-Ni\u0161 is that\u2026 we are sooo cool [he laughs, ed.].\u00a0<\/em>AEGEEans in Ni\u0161 are always ready for new friendships and adventures, and this is why we\u2019re the best student organisation in the city.\u00a0 Obviously, we are very modest too. The local\u00a0in Ni\u0161 was founded 17 years ago, and all these years we\u2019ve been spreading AEGEE spirit and showing all the great possibilities AEGEE has to offer. I think we\u2019ve been doing pretty good job, but of course, there are so many things that we still need to do.<\/p>\n

Why did you decide to apply for the NWM?<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the things AEGEE-Ni\u0161 has never done before is NWM. So this is officially the first NWM that AEGEE-Ni\u0161 will be organising in its 17 years long history! And this AEGEE generation has the honour of organising this kind of AEGEE event. This is the exact reason we\u2019ve decided to apply \u2013 the honour of organising it and making history by doing that!<\/p>\n

How is the cooperation with your Netcommie?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oh, our Netcommie Jovana is a real sweetheart! She has become our great friend and advisor, we couldn\u2019t\u00a0possibly have gotten a better mentor. We love you, Jovana!<\/p>\n

How many participants do you expect to have? Only from your area or from other parts of the network too?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We expect around 20 participants. Most of them will probably be from the countries nearby, but we hope that some non-Balkans will visit us as well!<\/p>\n

What is the name of your NWM? Can you explain it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our NWM is called \u201cSeize the days\u201d. We thought this would be the perfect name because we know that all the participants will have their days in Ni\u0161 seized in the best way possible! Carpe diem<\/em> is something that professor Keating (Robin Williams) from \u201cDead Poets Society” would want all of us to do – learn, love, inspire \u2013 and this is exactly what the NWM is all about.<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the social programme?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since Ni\u0161 has a very rich history, there will be a city tour for sure. And, of course, a party every night since the city offers a very rich night life. There will also be a \u201ckafana\u201d night, which is a big part of Serbian tradition.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_8351\"<\/a>What are the upcoming projects of AEGEE-Ni\u0161?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are planning to do several new projects, and to continue some of the AEGEE-Ni\u0161 traditional projects, like Habla with moi<\/em> (project about language and culture), Be Smart and Start <\/em>(project about entrepreneurship), and of course Summer University. This year\u2019s SU is named \u201cVampires and Gods\u201d, and we are organising it with our friends from AEGEE-Thessaloniki. The main topic is history and Serbian and Greek mythology. This will definitely be an exciting year for AEGEE-Ni\u0161!<\/p>\n
